About Bsky Viewer

Free, anonymous tools for the public side of the Bluesky network — built by independent developers on the open AT Protocol.

What Bsky Viewer is

Bsky Viewer is an independent collection of browser tools for reading public Bluesky data: a profile viewer, a video downloader, a likes viewer, a search page and a live status checker. Every tool works without a Bluesky account, without an app install and without asking who you are.

The site exists for a simple reason: Bluesky runs on the AT Protocol, an open standard where public posts, profiles and likes are readable by design. An open network deserves an open front door — this is ours.

Who builds and maintains it

The site is built and maintained by a small independent team of developers who have worked with the AT Protocol since 2026. It is not a company, has no investors and runs no ads. Development happens in the open; the code and content are verified against the live production network with every release.

We are not affiliated with Bluesky Social PBC. Bluesky and bsky.app are trademarks of their respective owners, and this project simply consumes the public endpoints they expose for everyone.

How the tools work

All data you see comes from two public sources: the shared Bluesky AppView API at public.api.bsky.app, and each account's own PDS server, resolved through its DID document exactly the way the official apps do. When you look up a profile, your request goes to our API routes, which query those public endpoints, cache the answer briefly, and render it as a normal web page.

There is no database behind this site. No accounts, no stored queries, no mirrors of posts. Caches live for minutes at the edge and then disappear. What runs in your browser is a small read-only client; what runs on our server is a thin, rate-limited proxy to public data.

Our principles

  • Public data only — if Bluesky doesn't expose it publicly, we don't show it
  • No login walls — reading public content should never require an account
  • No tracking — no analytics profiles, no ad networks, no sale of data
  • Honest tooling — no re-encoding, no watermarks, no fake quality pickers
  • Fair use — rate limits protect the shared public API we all depend on
